AMFI code of conduct

The standards investors should understand when dealing with a mutual fund distributor: fairness, transparency and care with every instruction.

About the code

The AMFI Code of Conduct sets standards for mutual fund intermediaries and distributors. The points below are a plain-language guide to key expectations, not a substitute for the complete current code or an independent certification of i2 Finserv's compliance.

Integrity and fairness

Deal honestly and fairly with investors, AMCs, registrars and regulators. Investor interests and accurate information should guide a distribution interaction.

No application splitting for higher charges

Do not split investor applications or transactions to earn additional transaction charges or other benefits. Explain the applicable charges clearly and treat each instruction accurately.

Accurate KYC and application information

Use accurate investor information and authorised instructions. Do not tamper with applications, falsify KYC details or ask investors to sign blank forms.

NISM certification and EUIN

Persons carrying out covered distribution activities must meet the applicable certification and identification requirements. Keep relevant NISM certification, ARN and EUIN information current, subject to applicable rules and exemptions.

Know Your Distributor (KYD)

Meet applicable AMFI KYD requirements and keep registration and contact particulars up to date. An investor should be able to identify the distributor and check the relevant registration.

Regulatory cooperation

Cooperate with AMCs, AMFI, SEBI and other competent authorities in inspections, inquiries and the resolution of investor concerns. Follow applicable regulatory directions.

AML and KYC requirements

Follow applicable anti-money-laundering and KYC requirements, including the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002 and relevant SEBI / AMFI directions. Obtain and handle required information through the appropriate process.

No mis-selling or concealment of risk

Do not misrepresent a scheme, promise assured returns or conceal material risks, costs or conflicts. Explain relevant scheme features so investors can make informed decisions.

Commission clawback

Observe applicable commission and clawback requirements. Where a commission must be returned under an applicable rule or AMC arrangement, the relevant terms govern the distributor's obligation.

Investor education

Encourage investors to understand risks, expenses, plan choices and their rights. Promote reading the current SID, SAI, KIM and addenda before investing, rather than relying on promotional material or past returns alone.

Our registration and declaration status

i2 Finserv publishes ARN-90748 and EUIN E072708. Current registration information, validity sources and pending certificate details are available on our registration and licenses page.

A firm-specific signed code-of-conduct declaration is pending publication. This page does not represent a signed pledge by the founder, an audit result or a statement that every certification has been independently verified.

If you believe an interaction falls short of these standards, use our investor grievance redressal process.
